Europe Day: Demonstration in Solidarity with Ukraine

May 9th, 2025

Location: Utrecht | Focus: Justice for Ukraine & EU Integration

In Utrecht (Netherlands), the Emile Foundation gathered with politicians, civil society, and the Ukrainian community to mark Europe Day. Together, we showcased a powerful demonstration of solidarity.

The event revolved around raising awareness about the illegal abduction of Ukrainian children by Russia. This is a war crime that continues to tear families apart.

During the event, our CEO and co-founder Mariam Lambert was interviewed by Jamal Statsenko. He asked her a simple but urgent question:

Why should Ukraine be a member of the European Union?

Her response was bold and clear:

💫 Ukraine already shares European Union values.
💫 Ukraine needs security and protection — for itself and for all of Europe.
💫 Ukraine must join the EU and NATO. It’s that simple.

Discover below the messages we must repeat until every European mind and policy incorporate them.

The event also raised essential funds for the Emile Foundation. These funds support our work with children and families affected by the war. We are grateful for every show of support.
