GLOBSEC 2025 | 20th Anniversary Edition
From June 12th to 14th, Prague became the epicentre of global dialogue. This event was the 20th GLOBSEC Forum , opening under the patronage of President Petr Pavel and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Czechia.
This milestone edition brought together world leaders, innovators, changemakers, and human rights defenders from over 70 countries. They all sought answers to the most urgent geopolitical, security, and geo-economic challenges of our time.
🤝 Emile Foundation was proud to take part in this landmark event. We ensured that human rights and the fate of Ukraine’s children remained at the heart and head of global conversations. Moreover, GLOBSEC presented their latest report on the abducted children of Ukraine: Stolen Generations.
🎙️ Our CEO, Mariam Lambert, spoke at two major sessions on June 13. She raised awareness about the abduction of Ukrainian children and called for stronger international protection of children in times of war:

Main Panel
“Is Anything Sacred? The protection of children in an age of transactional politics”
In cooperation with Emile Foundation
📅 June 13 | 🕓 16:30–17:15 | 📍 Schwarzenberg Stage, Hilton Prague Hotel
As ongoing wars reshape the global order, one essential question emerges:
Are there principles that must remain sacred, even in conflict?
In an age where multilateral frameworks are under pressure, pragmatic diplomacy often overrides morality. Therefore, the protection of children in war zones must stand as a non-negotiable universal priority.
This powerful session addressed the erosion of humanitarian norms and the urgent need to uphold the rights of the most vulnerable.
🎙️ Speakers included:
– Fawzia Koofi, Founder & President, Women for Afghanistan; former Vice President of the Afghan Parliament
– Mariam Lambert, CEO & Co-Founder, Emile Foundation; Member, GLOBSEC Women Leaders’ Council
– Tim Nelson, CEO, Hope for Justice
🗣️ Megan Gittoes, Associate Fellow, GLOBSEC
Together, these global voices will explore how we protect children. This becomes crucial when laws weaken, politics harden, and the world order breaks.

Side Event
“Stolen Generations: A Systematic Violation of Ukraine’s Future”
📅 June 13 | 🕐 14:00–15:30 | 📍Hilton Prague, Room Karlin 2
The session was hosted by Emile Foundation
As Russia’s war against Ukraine enters its fourth year, a dangerous front has emerged. It targets the nation’s children.
Nearly 20,000 Ukrainian children have been identified by the Ukrainian authorities as abducted and forcibly transferred to Russia. This is not just a humanitarian tragedy; it is a systematic campaign of identity erasure. It involves coercive adoptions, militarised education, psychological indoctrination, and language suppression.
At this session, we explored this unfolding crisis through the lens of GLOBSEC’s newly released report “Stolen Generations”, and asked:
– What are the legal and moral responsibilities of the international community?
– How do we reunite children with their families — and their identity?
– What role can technology play in documenting crimes and tracing victims?
🎤 Speakers included:
– Megan Gittoes, Associate Fellow, GLOBSEC – presenting the report’s key findings
– Mariam Lambert, CEO & Co-Founder, Emile Foundation – calling for urgent protection and justice
– Olena Halushka, Board Member, International Center for Ukrainian Victory
– Joseph Jones, Ukraine Lead, Paliscope
First Responders:
– Tobias Ellwood, Security and Defence Consultant
– Christian Berg, Founder, Paliscope
🗣️ Moderated by: Martin Poliačik, GLOBSEC & Emile Foundation
