Sunflowers for Ukraine: Our Mother’s Day Campaign
Sunflowers for Ukraine is the Emile Foundation’s Mother’s Day 2026 social media campaign.
Running throughout May and anchored by Mother’s Day on May 10, it brings together a network of high-profile women — influencers, policymakers, and advocates — unified by a single visual motif: the sunflower, Ukraine’s national flower and a quiet symbol of resilience.
Each woman lends her voice for sixty seconds. Each holds a sunflower. Each ends with the same call: Bring the children home.
Together, these voices form a chorus loud enough to keep the world’s attention on a crisis that too many have allowed to fade into the background.
Why This, Why Now
There are mothers in Ukraine who set one less place at the table every night. Mothers who have been told their children are dead, only to learn later that they are alive and living under a different name in a different country. Mothers who do not know where their children sleep, what language they are now being taught, or whether they will ever come home.
Behind every statistic is a family waiting for news. Mother’s Day is a day built around the bond between a parent and a child. For these families, it is a day that lays bare what has been taken from them. By choosing this moment to speak, we ask the world to see them.
