Artem Parakonnyi, a 16-year-old with a neurological condition and developmental challenges, was caught in the chaos of Russia’s invasion, staying at the Oleshky Children’s Boarding School.
On 21 October 2022, Artem was forcibly taken by the Russian forces, first to Crimea, then to an orphanage in Kropotkin, without his family’s consent.

In the first two weeks of January, Emile Foundation’s ground team has traveled over 6,000 km, visiting 30+ settlements across four regions of Ukraine. We’ve evacuated individuals from conflict zones, helped them find new homes, and provided personalised support for each child.
Many of the children we assisted have faced severe trauma, losing parents or struggling with depression and speech issues. To bring them joy, we consulted with guardians and carefully chose meaningful gifts. Every action we took aimed at improving their lives.
